Scottie Scheffler once again proved why he is the world’s No. 1 golfer by capturing the 2025 Procore Championship. With steady form and ice-cold precision in the final round, Scheffler not only secured another PGA Tour title in a spectacular season but also gained a massive boost of confidence heading into the Ryder Cup. Experts believe this victory is a clear statement that Scheffler is ready to lead Team USA into a historic showdown against Europe at Bethpage Black.

Scottie Scheffler is proving that he is not only the world’s No. 1 golfer on the rankings, but also the undisputed No. 1 on the course right now. With a composed performance in the final round, Scheffler edged past Ben Griffin to capture the Procore Championship — a near-perfect rehearsal ahead of the Ryder Cup.

Starting Sunday two shots behind Griffin, Scheffler quickly surged ahead with three birdies on the front nine and maintained his momentum on the back nine. The turning point came at the par-5 15th, where he reached the green with a delicate chip and converted an easy birdie to create a decisive gap. Meanwhile, Griffin stumbled with a costly bogey at the 14th and a three-putt on the 18th, ultimately handing victory to his rival.

Scheffler finished at 19-under, one stroke clear of Griffin, securing his sixth title of the 2025 season. It also marked the second straight year he has collected at least six wins — a feat achieved only by legends like Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus.

“We’re all excited for the Ryder Cup to begin. This was an important step to keep the whole team sharp. I know I’ve done everything I can, and I’m ready to go,” Scheffler said.

What made the win even more notable is that the Procore Championship is not typically an event Scheffler or other top stars enter, as it is traditionally a fall tournament for players fighting to keep their PGA Tour cards. But this year, U.S. captain Keegan Bradley wanted the entire American team to compete as a dress rehearsal. Only Xander Schauffele was absent as he welcomed the birth of his son, while Bryson DeChambeau remained ineligible due to his LIV Golf status.

Victory in Napa does not guarantee Scheffler a brilliant outcome at Bethpage Black, where Ryder Cup pressure is always brutal. Yet with his consistent form, 19 career titles, and unshakable confidence, Scheffler continues to cement his status as the No. 1 golfer on the planet.
