Novak Djokovic is no longer living in Serbia. Although he and his family have residences in Mallorca and Monaco, he has mainly lived and trained in Belgrade. However, he and his family have now moved to Athens, Greece.
The reason for his departure from his homeland is no longer unknown to the public in Serbia: He publicly supported the protests against corruption in the government headed by President Aleksandar Vucic, and Nole has since become the target of attacks by the government-controlled media. Djokovic therefore decided to move his family elsewhere for safety.
Recently, Davis Cup viewers saw Djokovic watching the Greek team compete. He has also enrolled his son Stefan (10) and daughter Tara (8) in St. Lawrence School, a rather expensive private international school.
The upper class in Athens are very excited about Djokovic’s move there. Stefanos Tsitsipas said he hopes to be his senior’s neighbor and practice together.
Djokovic “chills” until the end of the year?
However, Djokovic’s move is making it uncertain whether he will participate in the remaining tennis tournaments in 2025. Djokovic has reached the semi-finals of all Grand Slam tournaments this year, not a bad achievement in the context that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have become the two masters of world tennis.

Currently, Nole is still on the list of competitors in Shanghai Masters, but recently there are rumors that he will skip this tournament. The Shanghai Masters social media account posted a graphic advertising the tournament and the 38-year-old legend is not present in the picture.
It is likely that Djokovic will only compete in the ATP 250 tournament held in Athens, near his new home, according to information confirmed by him. In fact, this tournament is the Belgrade Open, but this year it was moved to Athens and Djokovic has accepted to participate in the tournament because his brother is in charge of organizing this tournament.
Being old and approaching the day of his retirement from tennis, Djokovic has said that he now only prioritizes Grand Slam tournaments and tournaments with the Serbian team.
