The project, announced during a press conference in San Candido, reflects Sinner’s passion for animals and his social commitment, far from the spotlight of the Grand Slams.

The champion, fresh from victories at the Australian Open and the US Open in 2025, revealed that the idea came from his childhood, surrounded by pets, and from the stories of abandonment he heard during his travels. “Whisker Haven” will not just be a shelter: it will offer safe and comfortable spaces, 24-hour veterinary care, extensive spay and neuter programs, as well as play and rehabilitation areas designed to help cats regain health and emotional balance before adoption.
The centre, which will be built on 10 hectares of land donated by the local community, will include modern facilities such as veterinary clinics, socialization areas and even an online adoption program to connect cats with families across Italy and Europe. Sinner has already involved partners such as animal rights associations and tennis sponsors to ensure long-term sustainability. “The most precious victories are not counted in trophies or Grand Slam titles: true greatness is measured in the ability to give dignity, protection and love to the most vulnerable animals,” he added, citing alarming statistics: in Italy, over 2 million stray cats face hunger, disease and danger every year.
The news has moved fans, with social media flooded with messages of support. “Jannik is not only a champion on the pitch, but a hero for animals,” wrote a fan on X. Celebrities such as Roger Federer and Jasmine Paolini praised the initiative, promising donations.
