Switzerland, September 2025 – The image of Roger Federer and his wife Mirka Federer appearing in a community education workshop quickly became the focus of sports and social media. Not in a flashy tennis tournament, not on the podium receiving a prestigious trophy, but in the middle of a small practice court in the Swiss suburbs, where local children eagerly picked up a racket for the first time, listening to a lesson about both tennis and kindness.
Tennis is not only a sport, but also a tool to sow seeds of love
In the one-day workshop, Federer – the legend with 20 Grand Slam titles – not only instructed the children on basic serves, how to hold the racket properly or how to coordinate movements. What’s more special is that he constantly connects sports lessons with humane messages: respecting opponents, knowing how to share when teammates stumble, and appreciating every little effort of his own.
“Tennis has taught me discipline and patience, but most of all, it has taught me how to respect and love,” Federer shared, smiling gently as he watched the children practice.
Alongside him, Mirka is not just an observer. She directly participates in teaching, talks with parents, and encourages children to confidently express their thoughts on friendship, empathy, and how to spread good things in the community.

In a short interview on the sidelines, Federer and Mirka affirmed the reason they choose to spend time on educational activities instead of the spotlight of the sports stage.

Federer continued: “I have received a lot from tennis and from fans around the world. Now, sharing – not only the skills of playing tennis but also the human values ​​– is a responsibility that I feel happy to carry out.”

The image of both Federer and Mirka holding the hands of children to guide each movement, interspersed with innocent smiles and admiring eyes of parents, created a touching picture of love. Through the Roger Federer Foundation, the couple has supported hundreds of thousands of children in Africa and Switzerland to access education and sports.
