YES Network cut away from President Donald Trump at an awfully suspicious time during the New York Yankees–Detroit Tigers game on Thursday night.
The President attended the Detroit-New York game at Yankee Stadium to commemorate 9/11. Officials and authorities put in extra security measures for Donald Trump following the horrific assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk, placing the POTUS behind bulletproof glass and assigning snipers from elevated positions.
During a break in the game, the YES Network broadcast cut to Trump standing in his upper-level suite. But as cheers and applause for Trump grew louder, the TV broadcast cut away from Trump to promote Yankees tickets for 2026.
This is a different reaction than the one Donald Trump got at the 2025 US Open, where he was heavily booed by the crowd. And when a video of him meeting with Triple H was shown at WWE SummerSlam 2025, the crowd loudly booed.

As a major sports fan, President Trump has fit plenty of sporting events into his schedule since returning to the White House. In February, he became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl when he watched the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.

Trump has also received a plethora of political donations from sports team owners, including Robert Kraft, Stan Kroenke, Arte Moreno, Shad Khan, Jimmy Haslam and Woody Johnson.
